CITS Hosts Expert Meeting with Professional Translator amd Interpreter
Recently, Master’s, postgraduate, and undergraduate students from ASU had a unique opportunity to engage with Ekaterina Natkhina, a practicing translator amd interpreter specializing in nuclear construction and an alumna of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and CITS.
The meeting focused on the critical aspects of a translator’s professional role at highly secure sites. Discussions covered the specific challenges of translation within strict access control environments, the importance of maintaining confidentiality, translator accountability, and the nuances of technical written translation in the nuclear energy sector.
Students enthusiastically participated by posing questions and exchanging personal experiences, creating a vibrant and stimulating environment that underscored the relevance of these skills in practice.
