From CITS to International Projects: Inspiring Meeting with Graduates

The Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation (CITS) held a career guidance master class. The meeting brought together active students striving to learn where the path of a professional translator and interpreter can lead.

Ekaterina Natkhina and Zaira Gazgirieva, CITS master’s program graduates, who currently work as translators in Türkiye for the major international company Titan 2 İç İnşaat Anonim Şirketi, were the guests at the meeting. The joint Russian-Turkish enterprise was founded to construct facilities for Türkiye’s first nuclear power plant Akkuyu.

Ekaterina and Zaira shared true-to-life details of their professional journey – from their first classes to real international-level projects. They described how the knowledge acquired at CITS helped them handle professional challenges, highlighted the quality of training that is certainly comparable to the country’s leading universities, and recalled the warm atmosphere of their alma mater.

Meeting participants learned the following:

real requirements for translators in major projects,

useful tips for working under tight deadlines,

adaptation and teamwork in an international environment,

and, of course, the importance of loving what you do.
