CITS Shares Interpreting Expertise at International Forum in Minsk
On April 7, CITS staff members took part in the 9th Republican Research-to-Practice Forum for Translation Instructors and Practitioners, hosted by the Minsk State Linguistic University. This year’s event, titled Translatio in Meritis: From Training to Practice, stepped beyond standard presentations to foster a vibrant, interactive dialogue, allowing the CITS team to share their extensive experience in training conference interpreters in the Caspian capital.
During a panel discussion, CITS interpreters demonstrated the contrast between poorly structured and well-structured speeches for consecutive interpreting note-taking, visually proving how differently the exact same idea can be articulated. The enthusiastic reaction from the audience highlighted the high relevance of this topic.
The team also emphasized the critical importance of training an interpreter’s memory, showcasing CITS’s proprietary digital platform, SpeechTRAIN, which receives continuous updates with new speeches.
Practice remains our primary language, and we continue to evolve while sharing methods that deliver real results.
