A World Without Barriers: Learning to See with the Heart

Staff members of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation (CITS) held a special event for students of Astrakhan Tatishchev State University to mark the International Day of the Blind.

To help participants better understand the challenges faced daily by blind and visually impaired people, students were invited to complete a series of tasks blindfolded. This unique experience encouraged them to rethink familiar actions and view the world from a new perspective.

Thanks to the students’ enthusiasm, the event took place in a lively and welcoming atmosphere.

In addition, the event featured presentations of two new professional development programmes: Accessible Environment in Education: Communication Skills for Working with People with Hearing and Visual Impairments” and “Fundamentals of Creating an Inclusive Environment.
