On May 8, CITS, in collaboration with the Council of Young Scientists, hosted a unique simulated academic conference Voices of Victory dedicated to Victory Day.

The venue transformed into a high-level international scientific forum, where school and university students delivered presentations in English, highlighting prominent scientists and their crucial contributions during the Great Patriotic War. Beyond historical facts, each presentation uncovered the deeply personal stories of individuals whose discoveries and hard work became an integral part of the collective Victory.

The event featured simultaneous interpreting provided by master’s students from the Faculty of Foreign Languages and trainees from the Introduction to Conference Interpreting course. This real-time language support lent the conference a thoroughly professional edge, allowing participants to experience the dynamics of a major international event.

The simulated conference format offered participants much more than a standard presentation platform; it provided an immersive experience within an academic and professional environment. Notably, school students participated alongside university peers, gaining firsthand exposure to the academic community, testing their skills in an international speaking format, and contributing to the preservation of historical memory through language, science, and public discourse.
Such gatherings serve as a vital platform for nurturing young researchers and fostering their interest in science, history, and foreign languages. This format bridges generations, engages youth in meaningful historical exploration, and demonstrates that the memory of the Great Victory can be honored in a way that feels contemporary, sincere, and profoundly alive.
