A new series of meetings for school students continues as part of the Pre-University Project. This time, CITS specialists delivered a session on self-presentation in English, sharing their professional experience and practical insights.

During the workshop, students focused on one of the most in-demand skills today, the ability to present themselves confidently, engagingly, and effectively. The session moved well beyond the familiar My name is…, introducing participants to a more advanced level of communication.
Students discovered that a strong self-presentation is not just a list of facts, but a coherent and compelling story. Together, they explored how to structure their narrative logically – covering education, interests, strengths, experience, and future goals, while using natural and appropriate language.

The session then shifted to practice. Participants worked on expressing their ideas in English, expanding their vocabulary, and developing public speaking skills. They later delivered their own mini-presentations, turning a basic template into a personal story.

Special attention was given to delivery: how to present oneself confidently, maintain eye contact, avoid unnecessary pauses, and sound persuasive. In the final part of the session, students presented their work and exchanged feedback, reflecting on each other’s strengths and areas for improvement.
Importantly, the meeting not only provided practical skills but also became a source of inspiration. Many students noted their interest in pursuing careers in languages, working in international environments, and even in organizations such as the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the United Nations. Learning from CITS professionals helps students better understand the field and see real career prospects.

The key takeaway is simple: you can sound confident already now, not because of complex vocabulary, but thanks to clear structure, clarity, and delivery. This skill is essential not only for academic success, but also for future professional development, especially for those planning a career in languages and interpreting.
