Humor Without Borders: CITS Celebrates April Fools’ Day
On April 1, CITS hosted a vibrant creative event dedicated to April Fools’ Day.
School and university students stepped into the shoes of translators and interpreters, taking on a uniquely creative challenge. Tasked with translating memes, stand-up routines, and jokes, the participants discovered firsthand that conveying humor is no easy feat. They learned that successfully localizing a joke requires capturing the right mood, mastering wordplay, and sometimes even reinventing the punchline from scratch.
The participants excelled at the task, proving that humor truly knows no borders when approached with imagination and flair.
