CITS Staff Member Participates in the 5th Young Scientists Congress
A delegation from Astrakhan Tatishchev State University successfully represented the institution at the 5th Young Scientists Congress held at the Sirius University of Science and Technology. One of the delegates was Nelly Leonteva, a senior translator at the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation (CITS), who also serves as an assistant lecturer at the Department of Philosophy, Cultural Studies and Sociology, and is currently a second-year PhD student.
The event brought together leading universities as well as scientific and technological centers of Russia, becoming a key platform for sharing best practices and establishing new professional connections. The forum provided participants with an opportunity to engage deeply in discussions on pressing issues in science and higher education, while also enabling them to expand their network of contacts across diverse research fields and gain valuable insights.
The participant attended a wide range of stands and sessions, including:
– the international programme focusing on humanitarian cooperation among BRICS countries, including collaboration in multilingual environments;
– key discussions and sessions dedicated to supporting early-career researchers and mechanisms of the national grant system;
– the presentation by the Russian Science Foundation, highlighting current requirements, trends, and project selection criteria;
– a meeting of young scientists from the Southern Federal District and representatives of Young Scientists’ Councils from across the country;
– sessions aimed at promoting science to the general public and fostering a positive image of scientific research;
– an open meeting with representatives of the State Council and the State Duma discussing legislative support for scientific development and mechanisms assisting the academic community.
In addition, Leonteva had the opportunity to visit exhibitions hosted by the forum’s partners, including the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Sirius University of Science and Technology, where modern approaches to building support infrastructure for young researchers were presented.
The knowledge and experience gained during the congress will contribute to further enhancing educational processes and improving the quality of professional training at the university.
