CITS Experts Take Part in 20th International Scientific-Practical Conference Professional Translation and Interpreting: Realities and Prospects
The Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation continues to share its expertise with colleagues by presenting innovative digital solutions for enhancing translator training. On April 14-15, the 20th International Scientific-Practical Conference Professional Translation and Interpreting: Realities and Prospects was held, organized by leading Russian universities, AKM-West Translation Agency, the Association of Translation Instructors, the Union of Translators of Russia, and the School of Didactics of Translation.
At the conference plenary session, CITS experts presented a scientific report titled Training Interpreters: Digital Solutions. Based on demand and regional characteristics, our specialists are developing digital platforms essential for high-quality interpreter preparation as replacements for imported alternatives. The report demonstrated that integrating digital services, specialized applications, and neural networks is indispensable in the current environment.
Polina Tulyakova, one of our interpreters, elaborated further on artificial intelligence and neural networks in her speech entitled Integrating DeepSeek and GPT into a Translator’s Workflow: Practical Recommendations. According to her findings, neural networks act like interns who need thorough guidance and explanation. True professionals should not fear these technologies but collaborate effectively with them instead.
Our current research sparked interest among attendees: during presentations, participants enthusiastically asked questions, exchanged experiences, and proposed future collaborations. Our participation confirms CITS’s commitment to staying at the forefront of modern trends in translation studies while nurturing a new generation of top-tier translators.
