CITS Hosts Working Session with WIPO Representatives
The CITS hosted a working session featuring representatives of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
Geoffrey Westgate, Head of the PCT International Patent System Customer Support Service at WIPO, delivered a presentation on key WIPO terminology and core institutional frameworks. He outlined the organization’s main functions and provided insights into working with terminological databases. Particular attention was given to terminological accuracy and its crucial role in translating technical and scientific texts.
The session was held as part of an ongoing terminology course, where faculty members continue their professional development and students gain hands-on experience with modern terminological resources and tools.
Uliana Saveleva, Head of CITS and project supervisor, noted that such meetings play an important role in strengthening the professional competencies of both faculty and students.
