Pre-University Project Students Uncover the Secrets of Translation at CITS

With the start of the new academic year, the Pre-University Project has resumed, and the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation (CITS) was delighted to welcome its participants. Today’s interactive session brought together school students and prospective applicants eager to explore the intricacies of one of the most dynamic and in-demand professions.

CITS staff conducted a captivating masterclass, allowing the attendees to immerse themselves in the world of translation. The session aimed to provide a comprehensive introduction to the profession, detailing the role of a translator, the tasks they perform, and the essential skills required for success.

A special emphasis was placed on practical aspects. The workshop featured a demonstration in a simultaneous interpretation booth, where a CITS interpreter showcased the specific features and challenges of this mode of translation. The participants not only observed the process in action but also engaged in a lively discussion about the criteria for high-quality translation, analyzing nuances and examples based on what they had seen.
