This Tuesday, a working meeting was held between staff of the Interpreting and Translation Unit of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation (CITS) and master’s students majoring in Linguistics. Students and instructors reviewed the results of a highly significant written legal translation commissioned by a real client.CITS Puts Theory into Practice

Practical training is always an excellent opportunity for students to consolidate their skills. However, when an assignment is commissioned by a major public institution, the level of responsibility increases substantially. Interpreters and translators cannot afford inaccuracies, as this would undermine both the team’s work and the professional reputation of the field.
At CITS, master’s students regularly work on real-life interpreting and translation projects, learning to meet deadlines, comply with professional requirements and standards, and—most importantly—interact effectively with clients.
The students successfully coped with their first professional assignment. During the meeting, challenging passages and interim shortcomings were thoroughly analyzed. All project participants noted both the excitement experienced during the work process and the satisfaction derived from the final result. Notably, the client was also pleased with the high-quality translation delivered on time.
