CITS Master’s Students Excel at MSLU International Translation and Interpreting UN Model 2026
From May 12 to 14, Moscow hosted the 6th MSLU International Translation and Interpreting UN Model, one of the premier educational initiatives for future language professionals and international communication experts. This year’s agenda centered on a highly relevant topic: Artificial Intelligence: Strategic Opportunities or Global Threats.
The simulated event gathered participants working across Russian, English, Spanish, and French. It provided them with an immersive environment designed to replicate the exact working conditions of language professionals at international organizations, featuring simultaneous interpreting, relay interpreting, delegate statements, and a multilingual professional atmosphere.
The CITS was represented by first-year master’s students Elizaveta Kvasnikova, Viktoria Strokova, and Yulia Miskova. They were accompanied by Elena Yakovleva, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Asian and French Languages and CITS Chief Specialist, and Dmitrii Marshalkin, Junior Lecturer at the Department of Asian and French Languages and CITS Interpreter.
CITS has proudly participated in the MSLU International Translation and Interpreting UN Model for several consecutive years. For our students, this project offers more than just vital professional credentials; it provides a firsthand look into the high-stakes world of global diplomacy during their academic studies. Furthermore, the master’s students completed their formal interpreting internship as part of the event.
